Science
Science covers Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 curriculum content and at Key Stage 4 pupils have the opportunity to study for an externally accredited exam, suited to their abilities. Science lessons are as practically based as possible with lots of hands-on experiences. This helps our young people explore more complicated concepts and relates science to everyday life.
Science at New Bridge School closely follows the Key Stage 3 National Curriculum guidelines. The scheme of work uses the Spotlight Science Course as its basis and adapts this to meet the needs of the pupils. At Key Stage 4 Science is an option and can be accredited using Ascentis Pre-entry Science, Science Plus and BTEC/GCSE Science.
Work is differentiated to meet the needs of the pupils. There are two specialist Science rooms with an attached preparation room. Both Science rooms lead outside into a sensory based Science garden.
