Blog 21.01.22

A little bit of a short and sweet blog this week…

For the Pre-Interns, it’s been a productive week with placements
re opening again for our students who have been attending the RSPCA on a Tuesday, Wednesday and half day Thursday.

While at college, students have been working hard to complete Employability portfolios.

We have been working towards gaining a better understanding of customer service this has covered a variety of questions from understanding the impacts on organisations, respecting customer needs and also understanding how to deal with complaints.

Alongside this, we have also looked at job seeking skills
to boost knowledge around what is involved in a job search, matching skills and abilities with various jobs and interview skills and procedures.

Back to the RSPCA placement, students have had the opportunity this week to support staff with a variety of different tasks such as cleaning duties, animal nurture and general staff support.

Here are a few pictures from placement this week as students have been settling into the new environment.

One student said…

‘’I like being at the RSPCA because I get to spend time with the cats and write up reports about behaviour. I like the cleaning because its an important job to keep the building clean and safe from covid and bacteria. I have been able to put into practice what I have learnt in class and use this while at placement. I really enjoy going on placement and meeting new people.”

In other places this week, we have had students who have also attended David Lloyd Gym where they have been working with the staff to complete a variety of cleaning duties around the health
club and also working front and back of house in the café.

Here are a few pictures…

And after all that I am going to leave it there and say keep your eyes peeled for more updates and have a great weekend.
