Hello and welcome back to the summer term. It’s going to be a busy one with a lot going on. Parents’ Evening is fast approaching on the 8th May. This will be followed quickly by our Year 8 Residential to Disneyland Paris and then our Year 11 Residential to Haven Holiday Park in west Wales. Pastoral and Academic Reports will be sent out later this term and we also have Sports Day and Super Learning Days. Following our successful roll out of the iPads to our staff team we will be rolling out the iPads to all pupils. Lastly, we will be saying good bye to our Year 11 Leavers and wishing them on their way at our Leavers’ Prom and Leavers’ Assembly. More details on all of this to come and we’ll keep you posted along the way but certainly plenty to pack in alongside the day to day work in lessons across the school.

However, kicking off the term with a bang is the biggest theatre production in the history of New Bridge ever, combining, for the first time, the efforts of pupils and staff from across all of our multi-academy trust schools. Taking place over several days next week, the stage has already been set for our production of The Greatest Show and tickets are now close to selling out for each night of the performance.

You can check out some of the cast in character and get a glimpse of the set below but to appreciate the show in all its colourful, musical and theatrical glory, you’ll need to make your way down, take a seat, sit back and enjoy the show (and maybe even have a good old singalong). So if you haven’t picked up your ticket yet, please click here for yours and we look forward to you joining us for a very special night indeed! (please contact Isabella on 0161 883 2401 if you need any help with getting your tickets)

Mr Hanif’s class visited the Science and Industry Museum before Easter. Daisy and Aron have written an account of the day for us..

Our class (9MHF) went to a trip to the Museum of Science and Industry. The museum was filled with scientific inventions and things that were made from the past. Also there were things that looked futuristic and handmade at the same time.

We watched the Manchester Revolution show, we learned about energy using wind. Connie also went up to the front and used the bike to power a fan..

We then explored the museum and Mr Hanif told us about the mills and factories in Oldham and showed us the cotton spinning machines. We also got a chance to look at steam engines working and all the different trains.

We then explored a big interactive space which had load of things it in like a skeleton that appeared in the mirror when we pedalled..

We were also able to use lights to make shapes..

We then had lunch, after lunch we watched the science show, which showed us how things work. We then spent some more time exploring before going to the gift shop and then went back to school.

Places can now be booked on our May half term holiday club, please contact us before Friday 3rd May if you need any help using the new system on your ParentPay account.

I hope you can join us for ‘The Greatest Show’ next week!
