Our wheelchair basketball team made up of players from New Bridge School and Hollinwood Academy had an incredible day down at Manchester Metropolitan University’s Sugden Sports Centre yesterday for the North West Youth Sport Direct Regional Inclusive Zone Basketball (IZB) Finals..

IZB is a four-a-side game, enabling participants with or without a disability to play the same sport, on the same team, at the same time! A standard basketball court is divided into three zones, with one running player in each wing zone and two players in chairs in the central zone..

The lads were brilliant and won all their games!!

They are now North West Regional Champions and will compete in the prestigious National Finals on Wednesday 26th April at the University of Worcester Arena!!

Congratulations to all the players, especially Nathan for leading the team and Suhan for displaying great enthusiasm throughout the games. Mr Lawrence would also like to thank Mr Valentine for supporting the students. Well done everyone, and bring on Worcester!!!
