Safer Internet Day is an annual event run by the UK Safer Internet Centre and this year’s theme ‘Be the change: Unite for a better internet’ is an important message.
On Tuesday 7th February 2017 we want you to be thinking about what you can do to make the internet a better place and how you can stay safe when using the internet.
On this page you will find links to videos, websites, tasks you can try, games you can play and advice for staying safe online.
Remember: Unite for a better internet!
This year the Safer Internet Day theme is all around the power of an image. You can get involved with the #giveasmile campaign here by designing your own emoji using the template below..
If you’re on Twitter or Facebook then you can take part in the #giveasmile campaign on social media by posting a selfie with your own emoji and the message:
@saferinternetday I #giveasmile to make the internet a better place! http://bit.ly/SID2017UK @UK_SIC @newbridgegroup #SID2017
Why not see how much you really know about e-safety and take the Safer Internet Day online quiz here?
Another fun way of getting inolved this year is to play emoji charades – click here to find out how.
