There are some very exciting things happening in our swimming department this term!
We held our very own New Bridge Swimming Olympics where each class had a go at some ‘Olympic’ swimming activities including races, relays and ‘whacky races’..
It was great fun and everyone got involved, trying to go for gold!
The pool area was decked out in true Olympic style and of course we presented certificates for all the gold, silver and bronze winners in every class..
Well done to all of our New Bridge Olympians, here are lots of lovely pictures of them in action for you to enjoy..
The Olympics hasn’t been all we’ve been up to, though – the game of water polo has been our main focus for the summer term. All the young people have learned new skills; passing and catching the ball in the water, aiming and scoring a goal and team work. All of this helps build confidence, improve fitness and co-ordination and above all, provides enjoyment for all!
Our New Bridge Sports Day is taking place in the last week of term. There are many activities on offer to the young people and as so many have chosen swimming, we will be holding the event over two days in the pool. Exciting times for sure!!!
