rsz_1matthew_walkerThis week sees our Year 11 residential to Hafan y Mor. The coaches are ready and the caravans are all set for one of the biggest weeks in our school journey! We will be there for four days and the weather looks decent, although typically British for the time of the year (‘sunny intervals, muggy and showers’). I won’t say much about the residential today, you can look forward to a major write-up at the end of the week in a special edition of my ‘Head Boy’s blog’ where you will hear all about the events of the week together with my opinion on whether it has been value for money. My mother will probably say it has been when she sees my face on Friday after having to put up with a whole week of Mr Greenway – unthinkably brilliant!

Last week’s Dodgeball Tournament was a massive success. The sporting behaviour of the majority of our teams was fantastic but special praise is reserved for the students of the Radclyffe School. They came to the competition with a fantastic spirit, their behaviour was fantastic and they represented their school with pride..

Certainly much better than Mr Hanif’s History lessons which saw the arrival of ‘trench warfare’ (click here if you don’t believe me!). To be fair though, there are some who might say that trench warfare began in this school the day it opened…

School received some very sad news last week which made things difficult for us as a community, as Mrs Lamb explained here. However, it is at times like this when we come together as a school. Whatever challenges or periods of sadness we face, as a school we do very well to group together and help each other out in the typical family way that we do things here.

So, here we go! I’m currently making my last minute preparations for the residential now that I have just finished packing my last bits. For all the people staying at school, however, have a good week doing work!!!
